MakeUpGeek Eyeshadow Review

Hey all!

I recently just made my first ever Makeup Geek purchase this past week and I just wanted to do a quick review for any of you that are debating whether or not to try their eyeshadows!

I have been a fan of Marlena for a while now and I always watch MakeUp Geek videos on YouTube, I've just not gotten around to trying her makeup line as of yet. So when I needed to replenish some of my eyeshadows from my makeup palette I decided to give MUG a try.

I bought three very affordable neutral matte eyeshadow pans in Beaches & Cream, Creme Brûlée and Cocoa Bear.

So let's move on to the review.

Pigmentation. Wow. That was pretty much my first thought I had, once I swatched my new purchases. The pigmentation is intense, you absolutely get a great colour pay-off with these eyeshadows. Even the transition colour "Beaches & Cream" that I picked out was super opaque and definitely impressed me.

Application. Color pay-off aside, the texture of the eyeshadows is very creamy and super blend-able.  They are powder eyeshadows that I got, not cream based paint pots or anything, but I definitely would describe them as being creamy. They actually remind me of L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder ( I love that product too), they just go on so smoothly and flawlessly and allow for a very easy build up of color. The first look I tried was a soft brown smokey eye- and I had lots of fun smoking out the color pretty high in the outer corner, and blowing it out more than I normally would simply because it was so easy to do. The eyeshadows wouldn't get blotchy or patchy- I would say these eyeshadows would be great especially for beginners because they do the work for you. They blend seamlessly.

Durability. I decided to test out the MUG eyeshadows for an event I was going to that night and the eyeshadows help up pretty well too. I wouldn't say that it is the highlight of these products , but overall I was extremely happy.

Pricing. Each eyeshadow was 5.99$ which is awesome for the quality of product you get. I mean- I honestly think that MUG will replace all of my M.A.C. Eyeshadows pretty soon. They have tons of colors and and Marlena has a video that shows you which of her eyeshadows can be dupes for M.A.C. eyeshadows.

I can't wait to try out more of the Makeup Geek products- I have a wish list of eyeshadows I want to get! I'd love to get my hands on Corrupt, which is apparently the blackest black eyeshadow on the market and I want to try out their pigments too! They look so gorgeous.

Overall the Makeup Geek eyeshadows are a HIT, I am so impressed. You get an amazing quality for a really affordable price which at the end of the day is what we are all looking for.

For those of you who are wondering if they're worth the purchase, I say go for it! You won't be disappointed. Below are some pictures of the completed makeup look. I hope you enjoyed my review. Have you tried Marlena Strell's MakeUp Geek Products?

What do you think?

Lots of Love,
