DIY Matte Lipstick

Today's post is actually a quick makeup tip that I like to use all the time!

I want to show you how you can create a matte lipstick from the very products you have  in your makeup bag. It is quick and easy, you don't have to spend any extra money and the best part is my version of "Matte Lipstick" has incredible lasting power.  I love the look of matte lips and I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

What you need:

  • Your favourite lipstick ( Bright colors look amazing with this technique)
  • A powder blush matching or is in the same color family as the lipstick of choice -or- translucent powder
  • A clean finger

Today I will be using a tinted balm, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in colour '025 Sweetheart Valentine' and M.A.C. Prolongwear blush in 'Stay Pretty'.
Application. Apply the lipstick as you normally would. A sheen or sheer color doesn't really work well with this technique, so apply a couple of layers until you get an opaque color.

Make' em matte. Take your blush or translucent powder  and press and swirl your finger in the product until you have a good amount on your fingertip. Then press the powder into the color on your lips. Repeat if necessary or until the lips are matte.

I love using this makeup tip! When I do this my lip color lasts all day long, even after I  eat. Below are some shots of the finished product! I hope you liked this post! Subscribe and comment for more posts! :)
