Best Drugstore Mascaras

I love using mascara to create really bold dramatic eyes. As you might have seen from my long flirty lashes post, I believe the longer, fuller and darker your eyelashes the better. I definitely like to pile on mascara to create an intense look and it is one of my favorite, if not my FAVORITE makeup product. If I have nothing else on I NEED mascara.

I do have some fave high end mascaras that I love such as YSL Faux Cils (40$) , Lancome (any Lancome one really 30$) and Dior's New Look (40$) and they work great, but 30-40$ for a tube of mascara is not worth it for me. Especially when there are so many amazing drugstore options and they might even be better. Trust me I've tried them all. So here is a list of the best of the best! Enjoy :)

L'oreal Voluminous. This is my holy grail. I've been using it since I'm 14 years old and I still won't permanently swap it out for anything. It comes in a curved or straight wand and the wand itself is very full. I like to use it in Carbon Black and it gives me the fullest, thickest most dramatic eyelashes ever! The formula is thick and so it doesn't make your eyelashes stick or clump together. I've got thick lashes to begin with, but this mascara just makes them HUGE. Love, love, love it. If anyone has tried YSL Faux Cils , L'oreal's Voluminous is comparable but a fraction of the price.  ( 8$ Drugstore)

L'oreal Telescopic. At first I honestly did not like this mascara, it wasn't what I was used to. After working with it a couple of times though I really started to see how well it works. The wand itself is slim and plastic and the formula of the mascara is very wet (more liquid like than creamy). It really separates each lash and defines the length. I tend to reach for this one when I am in a hurry because I can get the result I want in one coat. I want to mention that it is VERY different from L'Oreal Voluminous as it doesn't offer too much volume as it does length.

Maybelline The Colossal Volum'Express. This mascara is quite similar to my first mascara pick, Voluminous. The wand is large and really separates your eyelashes and provides lots of lift. It definitely is a good pick if you're looking for something in between, because I would say that the formula is a less creamy than the Voluminous but not as wet as the Telescopic by L'Oreal.

Just a side note, I generally do not wear the waterproof versions from any brand. I just feel like they are much harder to remove at night and the consistency is never the same as the original. Also to help reduce clumping, I like to run an eyelash comb through my lashes once I apply my mascara. It creates a feathery full effect, but remember the eyelashes have to be wet still otherwise i guarantee that you will pull some out.

What are your faves?
